camping: it's in tents

......but not in Korea!

Last weekend, we joined a few co-workers on a 'camping' trip to a location called 'Yangsan', just outside Busan.  One of our Korean co-teachers, Alyssa, is leaving Korea and we wanted to have a little get-together before her departure.

Alyssa took care of the booking details - and our transportation, and we met up at good 'ol Cost-Co to head up north with all the essentials.

the essentials.
After a windy drive up and down and around many mountains, we arrived at our destination of 'Sol Park', a small campground with a stream, tent-pitch sites, a basketball net, and a court for a special game called chok-gu (maybe?)

We spent the afternoon and evening alternating between mini walks on the mini campground, and laying around on the ondol (heated) floor eating individually wrapped cookies and jell-o shooters.

Alyssa cooked us a lovely chicken dinner on the grill (on a barbecue set up by the campground ajashi) and we entertained ourselves with a rousing game of ' who can pick up the bottle with their teeth' (similar to the challenge of the dinner party in January, in which we played with a mini androgenous Santa figure).

The challenge must have tuckered everyone out because it was a fairly early night of floorspace sleeping for everyone.  The rainy weather in the morning didn't invite much sticking around so we packed up, shipped out and made it back to Busan for a lovely Sunday afternoon full of napping.
